What do I NEED to hook-up on a Bulldog remote starter?

Ive got the RS82i Thats what I couldn't understand. Its seems to me that if its running my heater is going to work anyway as long as its turned on when it starts.

What do I NEED to hook-up on a Bulldog remote starter?

Looking though the instructions I think i can get rid of the hood pin and the door locks and all that junk. But what about the acc. heater blower wires? I can't see why i would need those. I also read about some transponder problems with the keys when I was searching. Could someone elaborate...

    which 40 series

I had DF 40's and reg 40s on my mustang and I would have to say the reg 40s. the DFs didn't drone signifigantly less and they sounded worse IMO. I took the DF's off and put my old 40's back on.

    Transmission fluid high!

yeah tranny's can be deceiving. I just gave mine a flush a few weeks ago. I checked mine by finding a level spot and letting the engine idle in park (thats how the owners manual describes how to check it). I also checked it about 4 times in a row to make sure I was getting consistant...

    Octane

Yes I have, and it was clogged. :D I checked out your site alec, that is one nice Explorer! I had an M112 on my last Mustang. Good choice with the Eaton for offroad, can't beat instant torque and rock solid reliability. :)

    Key in door won't turn

Man I had the exact same problem yesterday. I left it running with my dog in the car at sears and when I came out I couldn't get the stupid key to turn. I just got the X, so I thought there might be a special way, or something it didn't know about. Luckily the pass side turned with a little...

    Octane

When was the last time you saw 1500 degree egt's at the cat from the 4.0?
  11. S

    Octane

man, where do you guys get some of this stuff? All an octane rating is, is its resistance to detonation. Running a higher octane in an engine that doesn't need it doesn't do anything but waste your money, it won't hurt the engine at all. (assuming your not using leaded fuel to get high...

*%&# Got Air in my master cylinder!

Well i just put new brakes (pads, rotors, calipers on the back) on all 4 corners and was bleeding it this afternoon. Well I got 3 wheels done and i quit paying attention for a little bit and ran the MC dry. Needless to say, I was pretty mad at myself for making a relatively simple job...

    Interior Fuse box

Here ya go. Sorry, they are a little blurry but you should be able to figure it out. Oh, and I just got done doing a brake job so nobody make fun of my greasy thumb. :D

i'll take a pic of my 98's fuse diagram if you want. I doubt they are that much different. Do you have an ohv or sohc?

    a/c accumulator foam?

I tried to take mine off the other day and it is stuck on there. I don't know if it is an adhesive or rust and old paint that is making it stick to the accumulator. It tears the foam when I try and take it off though.

    Power Windows

usually you can take the door panel off and manually raise the window. It should stay up, just don't accidently hit the down button again. Check for a bad ground while your in there too, that maybe your problem and its a simple fix.

Would this method of tranny flushing work?

Well I finally took the explorer out for a test drive today. I drove it about 20 miles or so and everything seemed to be doing ok. Im keeping my fingers crossed though because of a bad trans experience with an s-10 blazer. I used about 15 quarts total with the flush and fill. I also added a...

Is this a good wire to tap for guage (pic)

well here's where I mounted my trans temp guage. The pic isn't very good but it looks nice in person. It needs to have another guage beside it though. I'll probably put an oil temp or something in there once I get some cash.

Is this a good wire to tap for guage (pic)

Wow thanks dogfriend! It is an orange wire with a yellow stripe. I went ahead and tapped into the wire anyway a little bit after I posted, but Im glad it turned out to be the kind of wire I wanted. Everything seems to work ok, but I haven't driven it yet to test it out. I just let it ilde in...

Is this a good wire to tap for guage (pic)

I found this wire under the steering column. It is switchable and looks like it would work well, but I read that you shouldn't tap into a wire that gets used alot for other power. I can't tell exactly where it goes. Looks like either the insturment cluster or the ignition. Anybody have...

    Safe spot for Tranny Filter?

id like to know if you can get around the internal filter too. With a drain bolt and no internal filter you could avoid dropping the pan all together. I just installed mine today along with a flush and a b&m cooler. I mounted mine on the outside frame rail behind the bumber. Probably not...

    31x12.50's on a 98 sport

hey tat, do you have the chrome diamond back's or the two tone one's? I really like the look of the grey/metallic diamond back's. Also, what tires were you running when you had the 31x12.50's?

    31x12.50's on a 98 sport

thanks for the help guys. I talked to Interco today and they said the 31 inch SSR is actually about 31.5 (which I already knew) and the 29 are actually about 29.6. I think im gonna go with some 30x11.50's tsl/sx's. That way I can avoid the body lift issue hopfully. As far as the wheels...

    31x12.50's on a 98 sport

I asked this a while back, before I actually got my X, but i think it was in the wrong forum. Well its all apart now and I need to get some wheels and tires for it. The wheels im looking at are AR Diamond Back's in a 15x8, 3.75 backspacing. The tires I want are 31x12.50 SSR's. Im going...

    Auto Transmission drain plug

I just installed a B&M today. All it is, is a bolt that has a bolt inside of it. Then there is a nut that goes on the back of the big bolt to keep it in place. You can get the generic versions at any parts store too. My 98 has a round sump dead in the center that is perfect for a drain. Why...

Would this method of tranny flushing work?

thanks to everyone for the responses. I started the flushing tonight, but stopped after I droped the pan because Im going to take it to a machine shop tomarrow and have a drain hole drilled. I don't know how old the fluid is, my guess is 60K, but it still has a red tint to it and the valve...

Would this method of tranny flushing work?

I forgot to add, what do you guys think about working the trans though the gears while its flushing? Would that help to flush more fluid or would it just be pointless? Of course the wheels would be off the ground to take the load off the trans.
  31. S

Would this method of tranny flushing work?

yeah I should probably keep about 3-4 quarts in during the flush instead of two. I read though a lot of flushing posts a couple days ago and I saw the "one quart at a time method". It seems like it would work ok, but I don't want to have to stop the engine after every quart. I would...

Would this method of tranny flushing work?

Yeah I thought about just letting a shop do it, but I really don't have anyone I trust around here. Plus it would cost about twice as much as doing it myself. I don't know how much fluid a machine uses but I plan on using at least 15 quarts, or untill it starts looking clean. My main...

Would this method of tranny flushing work?

I just got a new (to me) explorer. It has 60K on it and Im going though now and doing all the maintenance/tune-up stuff on it. This is how im thinking of flushing the trans fluid, you tell me if you think it will work. 1. Unhook the cooler line, start the truck up and let it pump...

    Anyone have 31x12.50's?

Hello everyone this is my first post here. This is also my first experience with 4x4's. Ive had a few fast cars (supercharged 96 Mustang, 300ZX with TD-05 turbos). Anyway, Im looking at a few 97-99 X's because Im moving to the northeast and I am going to do a TT and shackles lift for about...
