I just swapped out my daughters 4.0 in her 2001 Ranger 4x4. I pulled the engine by itself, leaving the harness in the truck. While pulling the engine, the harness has to be draped back best as you can while you pull the engine free. This tends to get bunched up... After putting the starter cable...

Based on this account, it would place it around 13mpg. Its my daughters truck. I "hear" about issues that pop up. Normally, she would get at least another trip to school and back before getting this low.

What does it take to rebuild the transfer case? Just new chain setup? I have a spare transfer case from a wrecked EX that I parted out. Are the parts sold at Ford only or can you get them from an Auto parts store?

Well, I just found out that I have to pull intake anyway to change fuel lines and rails. The 99 engine has a single line and the 98 had a double...... unless there is a way around it.. I doubt it though since I have two lines coming from the fuel tank too. Any suggestions? Im done for...

I just swapped my engine out for a 99 (into my 98). It's a 4.0 sohc. Started hooking up all the difference sensors and such... the 98 had two oxy sensors up top. the 99 harness only has one! What should I do? Should I swap the harness or will it be ok? I still have the old harness but...

I just bought a wrecked 99 Explorer. I need to try and get the engine running. Don't need to drive, just run and idle to hear it and make sure it's good before pulling. Is there anyway to bypass the anti theft just to make it run?? What about disconnecting the module for the anti theft...

Awesome! Thank you. I saw that little cap there and it never hit me to remove it... That did it. Now to remove the old door tomorrow and hang the new. Have to find some new hinge pins while I have it off. That will be alot easier.

I am replacing my driver door with another. The "new" door had the harness cut in the door jam under the round connnector in the door jamb. My question is how does that connector come apart? I assume that I should be able to disconnect it there and reconnect the new door there... Maybe...
