How much of a PITA to change starter?

Thank you for all the help and replies! I brought the starter in to the auto parts store to be load tested, and sure enough it was dead. I'm heading out to the garage to put the new one in right now! Also, by the way, it only took about 15 or 20 minutes to get the old one out. :)

Thanks for the reply. I just yanked the starter out and the connections looked ok....I think for the sake of it I am going to go to an auto parts store the have the starter load tested?

How much of a PITA to change starter?

I've done a few searches but could not find anything mentioning the procedure to replace the starter. Just wondering what a pain it is to actually pull out and put back in. Its a 97 Mountaineer(AWD,302). Yesterday I had starting issues, the relay would click fine....and you can tell the starter...

Summit Racing now also sells headlight harnesses

They don't have pictures of them on their site that I could find,or even a product description, but they are listed for sale there and they are in the latest catalog supplement, Looks just like the SUVlights.com harness, but they are cheaper at 40 bucks. The part number for the 9007 harness is...

Driving lights behind grille on 97 Mountaineer? Useless?

Cool, thanks for the replies. I haven't actually gotten down to exactly how I would mount them yet,but I know I can fab something up. Seems to be enough room in there on my 97 so that a pair of lights would fit. I haven't even picked out a set yet....... Once I found whether or not it was even...

Driving lights behind grille on 97 Mountaineer? Useless?

I've kind of been thinking of adding a pair of lights behind the grille on my Mountaineer. They would probably use 130 watt bulbs. I've seen other people do the same.........and I am wondering how much it kills it? They will only be on with the high beams. I'll be using them as "deer...

Just installed 9007 harness from SUVlights.com

Well, exactly who am I talking to? You had no idea who YOU were talking to but it did not stop YOU from assuming, did it? I digress...... And if I worked on wall street,I'd not be driving a 1997 model year vehicle, nor would I need more light in order to avoid hitting deer and wrecking my...

Just installed 9007 harness from SUVlights.com

Hahaha. I halfway take offense to this but its not your fault. You don't know me or know any better. "Thats life",as you say. There was nothing in my original post alluding to any sort of wiring prowess or lack thereof on my part....so I am really not sure where you get the inexperience...

    New alternator or capacitor?

First off I will kinda give the rundown of my system. It basically consists of four high-passed 6X8's(getting ~100rms each) and two MTX Thunder 8000's getting 500rms from a JL class D amp(500/1). I also added headlights that are 55/100(harness from Suvlights.com) and replaced the fogs with a...

Just installed 9007 harness from SUVlights.com

I know its been said here before, but this thing is a Godsend. This is SOOO much easier than wiring up the relays from scratch. I am REALLY glad I ordered this thing.....hahaha. Did not take too long to get(bout a week and a half),and I was emailed usps tracking info when it did ship. I know...

Stock Fog Light/headlight switch info please?

Thanks for the replies. I ordered the harness from suvlights.com yesterday. Was too good to pass up....hahaha. Someone else did the wiring for me so I am definitely going to take advantage of that....hahaha. Thanks again.

Stock Fog Light/headlight switch info please?

Well, first off I'll be replacing my stock fog lights with a set of driving lights with 100 watt bulbs. The relay will be triggered by the high beam lead of headlights, but I also want to retain manual on/off control with a switch. Can I run the relay ground through the stock fog lamp switch? I'd...

    Head Unit skipping from subwoofer

Yeah, the deck does vibrate a bit,but not any more than in any other system I have put together. Funny part is,I have never heard the Alpine deck skip from hitting a bump or pothole. its all together odd. I've never had to deal with this problem in the past 12 or so years of installing. My...

    Head Unit skipping from subwoofer

Well, one unit(Eclipse) I yanked out of my Mustang where it performs perfectly, and the Alpine is literally brand new....so I don't think its a dirt issue. But thank you for the reply.

    Head Unit skipping from subwoofer

I've actually never had this problem before in any of my other vehicles. I have an Alpine 7998 CD head unit and it skips quite a bit with bass-heavy music. I've used two dash install kits and even swapped in the Eclipse from my Mustang and that unit skips as well when in the Xplorer, but it...
