Nitto NT421Q I ran them on the 08 Exploder and currently running them on the 2012 Expedition EL. Love these tires!!! Excellent wet weather traction and braking, excellent road manners, no road noise, no issues with them and got around 54k out of the set. Top 3 of best tires i have ever run...

    Let's talk All-Terrain Tires

You will be VERY happy with the Falkens. I am running them on my 08 Exp 4.6 (265/65/18 on Ford Flex 18” wheels) Excellent wet road traction and braking, excellent in snow so far, not much road noise, no decrease in fuel economy. All around I am VERY pleased with them after almost 10k miles.

Best Non-Snow Tire for Eddie Bauer 4X4?

    New 2008 Limited project truck

I have the same intake on my 08. It does get a bit loud, but definitely breathes better. Word of advice: remove the clamp from the air filter and use 4 self tapping screws to hold it on. As it gets older and the heat cycles under the hood the filter will “dry out” and shrink where it attaches to...

20" Tires owners what yours like. Looking for viable AWD choices

Nitto NT421Q I have them in 18" on the wife's Exploder and am thoroughly impressed with them. Excellent wet weather traction, excellent braking, quiet, smooth and handle surprisingly well. The tire is mich more robust that the pictures show...

DIY Wiring Harness for 4 Roof Rack Lights! How To!

Looks good! Word of advice: on any wiring that MAY be in contact with the environment, use marine grade heat shrink connectors. They have a glue on the inside to keep their water proof-water resistant property. I also double up on the connectors with marine grade shrink tube just for piece of...

08 Ltd 4.6 Radiator leak/replacement questions (I've joined the club)...

I replaced my radiator without removing the fan. It was an enromous pain in the ass, but it is possible. It took me about 8 hours altogether. I also could not get the trans cooler lines apart. I simply unscrewed them and threaded the original ones in. Even with them unthreaded from the old...

How to: Wire in Factory Sub to Aftermarket Stereo

You need to add a 12v power supply to that blue wire, preferably a 12v power source from the radio (I used the power antenae lead in my Expedition). I went ahead and bought an amp that had speaker level inputs, no requirement for a line out convertor. Didn't have to tap into the back door...

    For those upgrading stock sub

my wife's 08 XLT didn't have factory sub and she wanted a little extra kick. I grabbed a stock housing from a pick n pull for $15, snagged a Polk MM 8" 4 ohm sub, and this little bity amp: https://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_77156_Precision-Power-PPI-A900.1.html This thing is tiny but packs...

Will 17" or 18" Rims Fit?

Those are the exact rims I am looking for! I would happily trade you for my 18s with brand new Nitto N421Q tires on them. Problem is shipping would be expensive.

What 20" rims do you have? Looking to offload them?

    2006 EB Stock Sub/Amp Replacement

I just added a Polk MM 8 to a stock sub box the sub was just a touch too deep (1/4") so I made a small relief behind the magnet and used a soldering iron to "weld" the plastic together. I used a stock amp and bridged it, using 1 + an 1 - from each of the outputs. Works great!! Edit: If you...

2008 Ltd 4.6L intermittent front drive line noise.

So I replaced both of the front wheel bearings with brand new OEM units and removed the front driveshaft..... still have the slight grinding noise when turning to the right. Starting to think its the front diff. I replaced the diff fluids last year with AMSOIL, made a huge difference in rear diff.

2007 Explorer: is it new enough to be reliable?

Jerks when accelerating and red battery light comes on intermittently

This. Had same issues, was a corroded ground cable. Had to cut 2 inches off of the ground cable to get past all the corrosion. Wife took it to shop and they wanted her to buy a new battery and a new alternator. I did change the alternator later one for a larger one, but for different reasons.

    Front brake upgrade

That looks awesome!! I love those factory 20" wheels and want them for the wife's Explorer. All in all I believe this is a worthwhile upgrade and plan on completing it once we get past the "Holiday slump"

trying to find cold air intake

I have the k&n "cai" with open air un-oiled filter on my 4.6. Other than an increase in intake noise, I have seen no noticable gains. Is it possible that it made a difference and I can't feel it? Yes. Do I think its a worthwhile upgrade without an exhaust upgrade and a tuner? No. I personally...

Current good shops selling tuners; 4.6 3V

I use an STC ITX from 5 Star tuning and had excellent results. Although I highly recomend you get an SCT4 and NOT the ITX. The ITX is very, very slow to tune the truck and changing tunes quickly is simply not possible.

    Stupid Brake Problem

Original brake hoses? May have collapsed brake hoses. They wear out and expand (rubber absorbs brake fluid) over time which allows fluid to flow through from master cyl to caliper, but not retract from caliper to master cyl. Way cheaper to replace a couple brake hoses than calipers.
