yeah I will recheck all fluid levels in the morning but I do thank you all for the help :)

took a little over 4.5 qts to refil but I will check again in the AM it looked like it was leaking from the bellhousing/rear of engine area but I pressure washed it tonight so I will check again in the AM

JTX @ this point I am not really sure I replaced the fluid and drove it around for a bit after letting it heat up and it does not seem to be leaking but how would I know if it was just *boil over*

help I was driving home yesterday and the trans started spraying all the fluid out .. Thinking could be front seal but not sure just bought the truck and was told every thing but the motor was in great shape ..

first off welcome to the board now about the growling sound .. have you checked the front brake shoes the same for the abs light it sounds to me that you may have metal to metal on your rotor which would cause both.... the tranny sounds to me like maybe the fluid may be old ..

thank you for the response... I towed the truck home on a flat bed and tried the gears again still nothing just what seems to be a dead trannie . would any of you recommend getting a ebay trans or rebuilding it from a master kit ? .... I have rebuilt a trans before and I do have the original...

HELP I pulled in to a parking lot and stopped, left truck running approx 5 mins and when I put it in gear the tranny made a high pitch whine and now it will not move in any gear .. fluid is fine * red and non cloudy and the level is fine * any idea what it could be !!!! any help is greatly...
