92 x a4ld lost all fluid

help I was driving home yesterday and the trans started spraying all the fluid out .. Thinking could be front seal but not sure just bought the truck and was told every thing but the motor was in great shape ..

Are you sure it was all the fluid? If it was hot it could have "boiled" the fluid out the vent.

JTX @ this point I am not really sure I replaced the fluid and drove it around for a bit after letting it heat up and it does not seem to be leaking but how would I know if it was just *boil over*

No way really to know i guess. How much did it take to get it full again? Mine did it before and i just refilled it and went on my way. If its not leaking with it full again i wouldnt worry.

took a little over 4.5 qts to refil but I will check again in the AM

it looked like it was leaking from the bellhousing/rear of engine area but I pressure washed it tonight so I will check again in the AM

Check your coolant level in the radiator to see if it's full.

yeah I will recheck all fluid levels in the morning but I do thank you all for the help
