What’s everyone doing for lowering kits? 2010 sport trac

I put Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 235/50R18 tires on mine, same tire that Ford put on our 2016 Mustang. Lowered a bit, smoother/quieter ride, and better handing.

    Power Seat Malfunction

I was able to complete repair of the raise/lower actuator mechanisms using parts from Two Men One Garage. The rear raise/lower actuator had a broken gear: Both front and rear actuators received new steel gears from the above source: All working well now, see I posted a separate thread on...

    Lumbar Fix

Here's how to fix both power and manual lumbar supports in these vehicles. Access to repair these is quite difficult, includes removal of the seat and seat back upholstery. Power Driver Side This is a Schukra 2016801 actuator: Very common for these to have broken planetary gears like this...

    Power Seat Malfunction

Played around a bit to come up with a way to repair the lumbar and rear raise/lower actions on the replacement junkyard seat. The seat bottom/back can be removed from the adjuster base with four 15 mm nuts and a few connectors: I was able to find and order an NOS lumbar support...

    Power Seat Malfunction

Had a chance to strip down the junkyard seat, clean it up, and reinstall with my upholstery. Testing showed the seat rear raise/lower mechanism was not working. Motor hums but no movement. doesn't look like there is a way to replace any components in the seat assembly, many large pivot pins...

    Power Seat Malfunction

I pulled this beauty out of a local wreck for $60. I'll strip it down and clean it up, plan to use my cushions and seat covers with this new frame. Vehicle was side-swiped on the driver side, no air bags deployed on this wreck.

    Power Seat Malfunction

I recently discovered my 10-way power drivers seat no longer goes backward. Seems like the tracks are "offset", you can feel it twist and bind as it tries to move back and then stops. If I loosen the 4 mounting bolts, it goes back as normal. Vehicle has over 255,000 miles, maybe worn out seat...

    Woolwax application

I was able to apply Woolwax to our new Explorer before we see any salt on our Indiana roads. All fender liners removed to get into the inner cavities. I found the long tube with the single center outlet was the best way to apply it. Here's the kit I used, took about 1.5 quarts total...

    Composite upper strut mount

Found this over the weekend after removing the front fender liners to apply Woolwax rust prevention. The entire upper strut mount is a composite that appears to be mechanically fastened to the steel frame. There is a steel arch the goes around the top of the wheel. Found this picture on an...

4.6 V8 Power Steering Pump Leak

Got it, thanks Bazz! I had to search a bit to learn more about these fittings work, check This pic from the video shows the internal O-ring seal and snap ring that holds the nut in place. Rock Auto part you referenced, Motorcraft PSH373 Logical that Ford installs the nut on the pump and...

4.6 V8 Power Steering Pump Leak

I only assembled the HP line nut finger tight before mouting the pump on the engine. Final tightening of the nut on the vehicle insures correct stress free alignment of the line on the pump as determined by the bracket holding the line a foot or so away from the pump. Can you define further...

4.6 V8 Power Steering Pump Leak

This setup with wobble socket extensions and an 18mm flare crowfoot is the only way I found to adequately tighten the HP line nut to the pump discharge, with oil filter removed. Even with the reservoir and oil filter out of the way, there is no room to rotate a flare wrench, even a short one...

4.6 V8 Power Steering Pump Leak

Installed the pump and found it leaked at the HP line flare nut going into the pump. When I installed the seal that came with the pump on this flare nut, it looked too big. After some digging, discovered correct seal is smaller than what came with the pump. Ford has made these in several...

4.6 V8 Power Steering Pump Leak

4.6 V8 Power Steering Pump Leak

Yes, there was no indication of HP line leak, since there is no fluid on the line or fitting. It would have leaked when installed and pressurized on first run. There was a uniform coating of fluid on the inside surfaces of the pulley. Pumps I purchased came with the pulley installed.

4.6 V8 Power Steering Pump Leak

Thanks fellas, looks like this part only fits 2006-2010 Explorers with 4.6 V8's. The one I got from Amazon had a 1 year warranty, so no recourse on a replacement expcept to buy a new one. After looking at several options, going with this part from Autozone...

How to: 2020-2023 XLT Liftgate Finish Panel - Chrome to body color conversion

Clean and sand the bezel with 240 grit wet or dry, wire brush any areas as needed to scratch them up for good paint adhesion. I used a self-etching primer, PPG Omni Plus MBP (Ford UM Agate Black) in a Preval sprayer, and SEM 40903 clear. This will get polished to a high gloss after...

    B-Pillar Vinyl Wrap

The B-pillar on both sides of our truck was starting to look pretty bad, so I wrapped them in matte black vinyl. Looks much nicer, this is an easy upgrade. I also used 3M Primer 94 on the edges to ensure good adhesion.
