    2019 water pump

You might not have to wait until 75K or more. My wife’s 17 Limited pump went out at 54K

Has the water pump issue been resolved for the 2016 model year?

Just had my wife’s 2017 Limited pump replaced at 55,400 miles. Ford quoted me $1800-2000. Ouch! I was 4 months out of the drivetrain warranty and Ford chipped in and I only paid $625. It’s in the back of my mind that this will happen again. Might think of selling next spring.

2015 Explorer sport , 101K miles water pump ... should I do timing chain too ?

I just had my wife’s 17 Limited (3.5not ecoboost) water pump changed at 54,500 miles. Timing chain/guides are all part of a kit from Ford. I was 4 months out of the drivetrain warranty. Dealer quoted me $1800-2000. Ford chipped in and I had to pay $650. Service writer said this is very common...

    Weird electrical issue

I’m guessing I would have the group 65 because the car has every option.

    Weird electrical issue

It has only 31,000. Everything is original. Rain was not a factor

    Weird electrical issue

I think the fact that she was turning was a fluke. She said it was hard to start a couple of days ago but did start. I’m going to get the battery checked. Might be strong enough start the car but not strong enough to run all the other accessories

    Weird electrical issue

Nothing showed up on the display. According to my wife she said when she put on the blinker to turn she said the screen went blank and the signal noise went silent and the car sputtered but came back to life. She’s paranoid now that she’ll get stranded somewhere.

    Weird electrical issue

My wife’s 17 Limited experienced a weird electrical issue today. While turning, the whole display went black and car felt like it was going to die but it didn’t. She told me this has happened a couple of times in the past week (but neglected to tell me). Could this be a sign of a failing...

    New Explorer Exterior Burning Smell

For the most part. I’ve done the TSB on the HVAC system. I would say it’s 75-80% gone

List of Useful Threads Hood Paint bubble issue only

I had my wife’s hood replaced at the end of April and like what you stated they don’t have a body shop of their own and sublet it to a local (to them) shop. In all honesty, the hood looks better than the rest of the car. BTW I only had to wait a week for the hood back then

    2013 Rear toe link breakage

I looked up the recall and it says 2010 through 2017 Explorers, but the build date is Jan 25 and earlier. Mine was built in March so no recall for me

    2013 Rear toe link breakage

Went to the dealer today and was told my wife’s 17 Limited isn’t in the recall. Must be related as to when it was built

List of Useful Threads Hood Paint bubble issue only

Just got the Explorer back today but the weather is so crappy I can’t really tell how good or bad of a job they did. This is a new hood not repainted,at least according to the service advisor

List of Useful Threads Hood Paint bubble issue only

Mine is in the shop now. Going on 2 weeks. A friend of mine that works in a local body shop (not the one Ford uses) says they’ve come up with a new primer to rectify the problem. We’ll see.

2018 Explorer Limited 3.5L oil leaks

This is why I’ve switched to Japanese cars. I’ve had nothing but great results with my Acura TL(had for 12 years) and now a Lexus IS350 FSport. My wife insists on having Fords so “happy wife-happy life “. Although she has had 6 Fords in the past 35 years and no major problems just a lot of...

    Explorer door sill

I was hoping the whole piece would not have to be replaced. I’ll do some research on the web, maybe I can come up with a solution.
