    Bucket seats. Recommendations?

I have a pretty much stock 94 XLT. I hate the bucket seats, I mean HATE them. Besides the cloth covering (puke), they're worn & mushy, and the back doesn't sit up straight enough for me ... this matters: my back's bad. Enough grousing ... has anybody junked the Ford OEM seats and found...

    ACK - Rear Drum Brakes

Well, I gotta admit I'm pretty frustrated. I'm just starting to reassemble the rear R drum brake. I'm early in the installation. Got the secondary shoe on, put on the primary (rear) shoe, and then realized I hadn't connected the parking brake cable to the lever. OK, remove primary shoe, and then...

    OE Exhaust Questions

Oh boy. I've got a hole in the muffler, time to replace it. As long as I'm back there, I'm thinking about doing an entire catback system -- I'm certain (3rd owner of this '94 XLT) this is all original exhaust. AFAICT, the system from the cat forward to the manifold doesn't leak, and it passed...

Part search: 94 4WD brake caliper pins

Are these dealer parts only? I was taught to replace the caliper pins at every brake job. I'm due for one. Can't seem to find any pins online. Do I need to go to the dealer for these? TIA

How do you measure caster split?

The Ford Service manual for the Explorer gives specs for a "caster split" as a negative degree value of -0.8 degrees, plus or minus 0.4 degrees. When the split is negative, which side is supposed to be greater than the other? Another way of putting this is "which side do you subtract from...

    Dumb question: Boot clamps

Anybody ever lubricated their driveshaft slip yokes like Ford says every 30K miles? Service manual says you gotta remove the driveshafts (main rear, and RH front), slide the yokes out, remove the rubber boots and fill them w/grease. The clamps on those grease boots seem to be dealer...

    This SeaFoam stuff is AWESOME

I just ran SeaFoam (as described in many threads here) thru the brake booster vacuum line last week. I wanted to do the TB so that I'd get all the cylinders, but I didn't wanna invest the time in disconnecting the IAC (1st Gen), so I just settled for hitting the rearward cylinders thru the brake...

    Newbie says "hey"

Just registered a few days ago, thought I'd put up my virgin (#1) post. A couple of weeks ago, I became the 3rd owner of a '94 XLS with 115K miles on it. I just got through doing the immediate "new/used car" work (brakes, lights, etc) and have been taking great advice out of this forum...
