A previously dropped thermostat housing bolt landed behind the harmonic balancer and at crank, cracked the harmonic balncer "neck" and crankshaft guiding notch (that keeps the harmonic balancer installed in a certain way) was stripped off! Engine Teardown? any backyard mechanic tips?

I bought a 95 4.0 4x4 like a week after this post

I am all in now. I ordered the connector earlier today. it's my project not my daily.

just finished installing all 5 studs and brakes on one side. found a tutorial here on EF. No grinding. Used a aluminum spacer as the stud installer, it has the grooves in the design that centers the stud.

I want to install the lug studs and the only nuts I see are behind the spline on the dust cover? Do I pull left or right? one of the nuts is already scraped don't want to mess this up.

Ordered from ebay and got the wrong style plug. checked rockauto and it shows a couple of different iac's but 95TF-9F715-BB look most like mine. Anybody know where I can find one for my vehicle between $30-35 usd?

Okey, thanks. I did look for a connector but didn't see it off the bat. will look again. I watched a yt video for ford 87-94? and they showed that connector on their vehicle which wasn't and explorer.

I just got online to check youtube but can't find a 1995 ford explorer video on obd plug location and jumper pins that need jumping.

I do need to go through that too just to check out psi on fuel pump. I have a fuel pressure tester kit from HF gonna have to figure out if it fits. I feel like this is going to be a tps sensor but most likely a maf sensor problem.

Disconnected the battery yesterday connected another battery today and the vehicle stayed on I drove it around for a few minutes and got the check engine light as I drove it back into the porch it turned off on its own. Will check check engine code tomorrow.

The battery died on me from starting it too much. I noticed something weird when I connected my battery charger, noise would come out of the speakers...even with the volume turned all the way down! also, the chargers stopped charging a few minutes in AND the 4low light would turn on and off...

starts fine but does not stay on. it turns on for about 5 seconds then dies. I cleaned the IAC. Looked for broken vacuum hoses. Made sure it has gas. No check engine light. My 95's driving cluster is a mess, it looks like a x-mas tree when on! light everywhere.

The only thing that changed was I took out the battery for a weak, then re-installed to move one day and it stayed idling fine. What could it be.

I would lose 25 horses with added weight.
