Falling for my Explorer again that is,been sidetracked by my Range Rover for a while but getting back into the Explorer i really appreciate it,great value as well.Even getting bits together for a bit of a make-over.

Just got back from 30 mile trip,last few miles temp gauge rising,by the time i got home coolant pouring from bottom of rad seems to be on off-side.Any thoughts?

Hi , i take mine to ford service bridge st southport ive always recieved good service and they have sorted quite a few problems without any great drama. e.g i was quoted £500 to change intake manifold gaskets by a main dealer, they did the job and re set engine fault code for £90

try shifting gears out of park then into park again gearbox may think car is in gear and not let engine start.

X got through needing a ball joint to pass.I love this car when its working but we have had a bad year.Had to leave it at Fords for a week twice waiting for parts.But at the moment its magic! FINGERS CROSSED

This could be the same problem im having.The interuptor switch in the starter cuicuit is faulty.So the car thinks its in gear and wont start.

Thanks for replys. Fault has been traced to the interuptor switch.So basically the car thinks its in gear all the time and wont let the starter run.Ive by-passed this ,so now i can start it in any gear,but have ordered a switch from Ford £80.00.

Thought it was going too well. wont start! RAC been out came to same conclusion as me.interuptor switch linked to auto box u.s .anyone had this replaced? cost? Thanks

Ive had to stop using a Gas station every time i go there car wont start immobiliser sticks.

Strange thing i park my car about 100 meters from a mobile phone mast at work. yet it works great there.must be certain conditions etc.

Went through all these probs,check light coming on rough idling when cold. cleaned maf sensor- bit better changed maf sensor- bit better again changed o-rings- total cure! was charged about $120.00 to supply and fit at Ford dealer

Took car to work mon, squealing like a pig, left it all week as i drive to Germany most weeks, drove it home quiet as a mouse.Ford recon sticking tensioner.

Had my v belt replaced yesterday at Ford dealer. Now its squeeling though noise is dying down.is this normal?
