Falling for my Explorer again that is,been sidetracked by my Range Rover for a while but getting back into the Explorer i really appreciate it,great value as well.Even getting bits together for a bit of a make-over.

Just got back from 30 mile trip,last few miles temp gauge rising,by the time i got home coolant pouring from bottom of rad seems to be on off-side.Any thoughts?

X got through needing a ball joint to pass.I love this car when its working but we have had a bad year.Had to leave it at Fords for a week twice waiting for parts.But at the moment its magic! FINGERS CROSSED

Went out this am car starts up no problem.drive about 6 miles,try to lock car ,wont lock,try to start car ,wont start.Ignition lights on but immobiliser not switchig off.RAC come out (grumpy old bugger) gets on to his tech dept.opens tailgate, locks drivers door,takes off panel n/s rear of...

Had my v belt replaced yesterday at Ford dealer. Now its squeeling though noise is dying down.is this normal?

Just got my 97 Explorer back from dealer. Had new lower manifold gaskets changed,fuse blowing prob sorted. £130.00 the lot. Other Ford dealer quoted 6 hours labour to do gaskets + parts.

Everyone probably knows about this, ordered some parts off a firm advertising on e bay total cost from ford £220 from these guys £110 . parts arrived in four days held up due to maf sensor. 2 days is more normal. every little helps.

after cruising at 85 for a sustained time , when i slow to say 40, car feels lumpy and hesitant,clears when i speed up. does not happen in mixed driving ,just on m/way freeway. any ideas?

:uk: Want to replace my stock plug leads,dont know to replace with new stock or aftermarket,silicone etc any advice or contacts.

:uk: Having now re-read the manual i can see there are no tools except jacking tools, perhaps ive been spoiled,you often get some crap quality spanners etc.Anyway what tools would you carry /recommend ,spanner,screwdriver sizes types etc.

Anyone tried Splitfire or U groove type plugs? if so any good?
