Water pump under Warranty, should I do anything else ?

I got a quote for my 119K Explorer for $85.00 a Mo. I am going on a long road trip this summer and plan to get the aftermarket insurance and then cancel when I get back home. I know how some service shops gouge out-of-state people who need emergency to get home. I like the Explorer which...

Water pump under Warranty, should I do anything else ?

I got one who quoted $85.00 per Mo. for my 119K milage. I am planing a long trim this year and do not to be stranded 1,000 mile away and have to pay through the nose, no knowing a local service shop wanting to rip-off an out-of -stater. I will discontinue it after the trip.

Water pump under Warranty, should I do anything else ?

Yes, I saw that on the internet that an external one was planned or available?? I can't find anything further about it however. Yes, there is a serious space issue if that were to happen.

Water pump under Warranty, should I do anything else ?

Does anyone know what Ford is doing to fix the water pump issue? I understand they are now fitting the motors with an external water pump after the 2 Class Action lawsuits got their attention. If they are making an external water pump, on these new engines, can I purchase the external water...

Roof Rack/Roof Rails for Ford PIU 2013/2014

In my 2014 Police Explorer, There are sealed screws which fill the holes for the racks. Seems to me, a junk-yard rack from a civilian Exploader of the same year will work. You may have to remove the headliner though.

2019 Ford Police Interceptor roof mounts

They are the Motorola-style NMO type mount. They were installed from the outside. It seems that someone installed a 3/8 inch hole for the antenna and elected to install the smaller antenna and apply some glue to seal the washer over the hole. When the antenna mounts are properly installed...

Solved Tony407's Ultimate DIY Audiophile Audio Build

OK, this doesn't have anything to do with fabrication. However, I have a 2014 Explorer Police and I want to replace the standard radio with the upgraded radio from a same vintage Explorer. I got the junk-yard radio because I wanted XM radio.. Radios look the same; both Clairon units. The...

    led headlights

Make sure they are FCC approved. Most LED aftermarket lights come from China. Led lights work from a lower voltage of about 3 volts. This requires that the lights be equipped with a resistor for low-current small lights or for large multi-light bars, the more current efficient way is to use a...

DO NOT BUY PARTS FROM ROCKAUTO!

I'm glad you posted this. I also will not do business where a business refuses to communicate with the public or their customers. That is frustrating. Customer service is no longer respected by these big boys. That said, USPS is not what it used to be. I have sent out out Certified green...

    2014 Explorer Radio Swap

They were not able to program the radio as they said they did all of the keystrokes but the radio will not work. Perhaps they did not do it right. They charged $115.00 for the service. Both radios were Clairon products. Seems no one really has a handle on these radio swaps and the nefarious...

    What to expect reliability wise

Yes. Door Ajar lights indicating faulty door switch sensors. Ford's vendor seems to make faulty door sensors. Internal water pump failures. Generally, the warranty will pick up the first one. PTU's oil is recommended to be changed every 30,000 miles. Because of the complexity involved with...

    'Reprogram' Ford Radio??

Perhaps what was ment is that the radio may have lost the the vehicle VIN memory and the radio must be programmed to the vehicle's VIN using a Ford scan tool. Newer vehicles are deliberately made to you are unable to put a junkyard radio in your Ford to get up-grade options in the replacement...

    PTU Flush Cost

I have a 2014 Explorer police vehicle. My ford dealer stated that the PTU has a water cooler and that it or they are not allowed to change fluid as that the police models are not made for that. The standard vehicles have a drain plug and are serviceable. There are so many police vehicles with...

    2014 Explorer Radio Swap

I have a 2014 Ford Explorer. I want XM radio so I got a junk yard radio from the same Explorer. The plugs are the same. The radio turns on but will not change channels or provide audio. I was told to take it to a dealer and they can program it o the vehicle computer. I spent $118 to do...

    Police Explorer

I have need to replace the alternator in my Ford Police Explorer. It had a 220 Amp alternator. If I am replacing it I felt I would increase the amperage, as the newer police units have the 250 Amp. I attempted to get a rebuild kit for the 220 amp alternator. I find the 220 and 250 amp units...

    Good deal?

Who would want a 4-wheel drive unless you live off-road, like to pay high gas prices and enjoy dealing with PTU, water pump issues and very bad head lights. I have sold a few Ford Explorer police cars in MI. The explorer has an ever failing water pump. The first one is generally fixed under...

    Police Explorer

I want to install an audio interface line where I can plug-in audio from my XM radio directly to the radio's audio system. I have a 2014 Police Explorer. Who makes the cable? Also, I want to up-grade the alternator to the 250 amp model. Will that directly mount to my present vehicle? Also...

    Explorer Radio Swap

I have a 2014 Ford Police Explorer. It does not have XM radio. I obtained an 2014 radio from the junkyard which has XM. They look the same but I had to change the mounting Brkts. The junkyard radio seems to have enhanced audio as it has a heatsink on the side' probably to reduce the heat...
