I always like these kinds of threads. I don't post on this board a lot, so it is good for getting to know people. 1. 1998 Eddie Bauer 2WD 4.0L SOHC 2. $28,000 (MSRP = $31,735) 3. 24 miles (brand new) 4. 112,860

    Stock Floormats for a '96

NewMike, I looked through all of my receipts and could not find the receipt for the floormats. I apologize. I found every other receipt for every other thing I have done to Explorer. Maybe someone else here will know a source for oem style floormats. Rob

    Stock Floormats for a '96

I bought some aftermarket ones for my Explorer 2 years ago that fit perfectly. The color match (tan) was great also. The front ones, even have "Explorer" embroidered in them. They are better quality than the OEM ones. I keep all my receipts, so I'm sure I still have the receipts from those...

    Volant Install

I told them to check out the K&N site. They have good instructions there. :)

    Volant Install

I called the Volant Tech Support yesterday. They are sending me a grommet. They also apologized for the lack of instructions, which they said they are working on.

    Volant Install

I haven't had time to do the install, yet. I still need to get a grommet for my air temp sensor. I'm going to call the tech line today and give them some grief for not providing all the necessar pieces for my '98. Considering this is the most expensive system out there, it should be complete...

    Volant Install

Thanks, Jim. I did a search and found a few posts, but no detailed instructions. It looks like several people had the same complaints I do about the lack of instructions....all you get is an exploded view drawing. Oh well, I'm sure I'll figure it out.

    Volant Owners, need help?

Lazzman, Can you email me the link for the instructions for the Temp Sensor on the K&N site? Thanks.

    Volant Install

I received my Volant air intake today. I plan on installing it tomorrow evening. Anything special I should know for the install? I've installed a few air intakes and it seems like every one is different.

    New Speakers Installed

Thanks for the info. I may do that if I ever decide to upgrade the head unit, too.

    New Speakers Installed

Why should I do that? All I did was use the adapters provided for the connectors.

    New Speakers Installed

I just finished replacing all four of my door speakers with Pioneer TS-A6870R speakers (6"X8"). I must say, it is a noticeable improvement. Of course the stock speakers were worn out after 7 1/2 years. I'm very happy with new speakers....they were definitely worth the $170 I invested (for all...

Volant for V6 Sohc $239 delivered

Thank goodness I only paid $234, then. I wouldn't want to be the butt of a joke. :) I've bought air intakes for several different vehicles over the years and used to get upset about how expensive they are considering the parts involved. I think I'm used to it, now. There is tooling involved...

    Headers?!?!

I consider myself a real car enthusiast and strongly disagree with this statement. A properly designed set of long tube headers, along with tuning, give considerable hp gains on most engines. When combined with other breathing modifications, header gains can be as high as 40-50 rwhp on some...

    check out my truck

I recommend replacing the rusted tow ball with a new chrome one. :) I'm not really a fan of spinners, but you have done a nice job with it!

Hmmm. That is $104 cheaper than the Volant.

Volant for V6 Sohc $239 delivered

Okay, I used the search feature and read some more on the various intakes. I think I'm going to go with the Volant. I just need to confirm the part number and I'm ready to order. :) This site is full of good information.

Volant for V6 Sohc $239 delivered

Is the correct one, the VOL-19640 (listed for the 98-00 4.0L SOHC Ford Ranger)? I assume so, but would hate to order the wrong one. BTW Lazzman, did you get yours installed? If so, how do you like it? Has anyone done any dyno comparisons versus the Mac intake? I'm trying to decide...
