I just had the same problem. I pulled the boot out like was suggested and found three wires totally cut in half. Repaired them and all is well again. :)

Most likely your DPFE sensor has gone bad. This is an EGR Pressure Sensor sitting near the EGR valve on your truck. It is an item that is being replaced by the dealer with some restrictions. I can't remember what they were, but mine was replaced out of warranty as part of their Customer...

Shafts Yeah. That's what I'm talking about. Mine are tight as a drum too. However, I have been told that even the smallest amount of play can result in the steering problem. It takes the weight of the tires to reveal the play in the column.

PB Blaster!!!!!! PB Blaster has worked on everything for me!!! Apply a little heat for a while and then spray the PB on and let it sit. Tap it a little to cause the rust the break up. If that doesn't work than C-4 explosives will definantely work!!! ;)
