oops! edit to commence in this thread. It will hardly idle, as in no throttle applied. ON a good day it will, but the idling is nothing different than you would hear on an antique tractor. i'm talking under 500 rpms, erraticaly. most of the time it results in stalling, however.

Oaky folks, what is the purpose of the throttle position sensor, what happens when it fails (in terms of symptoms) and what can I expect in dealing with replacing one? My problems include no Idle, but the engine runs much too strong to suggest ignition, or fuel delivery. Air filter/fuel...

Hai ther- My girlfriend's 2000 Explorer Sport has a very strong fuel smell while driving and after driving, plus, a CEL code (i can't remember) P4022 or something like that, description says Evap Leak (Small)... it's to the point now that it's using so much gas it makes driving it hardly...
