I'm trying to figure out what trans my '99 Explorer has.....
It has the 4.0 SOHC motor and is 4x4.
Anyone know what it is or can anyone tell me how to figure it out?
I just got a 1999 Explorer with the 4.0L SOHC motor. Upon start up it has a clatering noise, almost like lifters that have bled down. As soon as it has run for 2 seconds(or less) the noise goes away. Any ideas what it could be? Lifters? Timing chains?
