well its definitely not a squeek sound, but who knows. twice ive had a mechanic to look at it, and both times it started fine and wouldnt make the noise...Im going to try agian today.

it seems like its in the center of the engine if I recall. isnt to the left or right. I would say top center, towards the back of the engine maybe?

Ok, Ive got a 2001 Ford Explorer Sport, 4.0L SOHC with only 66K miles, only mods are KKM intake and IMCO muffler. Sometimes, not always, when I start it up, it clanks like crazy, really loud. When i put it in gear it goes away slightly, but at around 2500 RPM's while driving it sounds bad again...

bolt pattern is 5 on 4.5, same as mustang's, backspacing im not sure on.

Ive got a 01 Explorer Sport 4x4, and today talked to a guy with a 99ish 4x4 Ranger with some 18's and 265/60/18's. I am in the works of trading with him, but just wondering if the backspacing/offset will be right going from a ranger to an explorer.

Yes I searched but didnt really find the details I was looking for. Im looking to get the stock 5 spoke GT rims (17x8) that I found for a good price, and I know they will bolt on, but they dont appear to have any lip at all, so Im guessing Im going to need a spacer to get them to look right...

well after directly at the throttle body and playing around with stuff for 30minutes with a friend of mine who is a mechanic....we noticed the hose that connects to what I think is the IAC was disconnected. It appeared in place till I looked at it from the side and noticed it wasnt all the way...

after being away from the explorer all weekend, today i finally got a chance to look it over. I feel like an idiot. Pretty sure I stretched the throttle cable a little when I did this, causing it to die after it starts. There is definitely some slack, so hopefully by fixing the slack this should...

ok I found a thread about the IAC, so I understand a little better now. But how did me unscrewing the trottle body affect this? Before I messed with this, I had no problems or rough idle, everything ran perfectly.

If you give it gas the rpms will go up a little, but it takes alot of gas to keep it going at all, and it usually dies within a second or two after you let off the gas. So even giving it gas wont keep it going. It definitely isnt getting air. So what can I do to this IAC, or what does it look...

sad to say that it wasnt the right one. it had a rounded top with the main opening and a small one at the top, and my tb has a flat top with only 1 opening. im very dissapointed, and sorry to say i cant tell you how it sounds 2000xplorersport.

Ok so I bought a TBS from a member brand new in the box for half price. I figure its worth trying, Im going more for a different sound than the power ( I hear some people get a whistly sound). I realize that its not going to help performance wise much at all, and that people get really fired up...

sorry i should have worded that differently. I ment disconnecting and NOT using the factory sub, but just using the wiring that goes all the way back for the aftermarket setup.

could you split the line that goes to the rear factory sub and run that to an aftermarket sub/amp combo?

Those are some awesome rims, maybe i need to order the IONs and see if I get the same deal!

i took it down there about 100-150 miles after I did it. where do I get the camber kit? Or does a GOOD alignment shop have this, Im sure as heck not going back to that place again.

So I just got a 2001 Explorer Sport 4x4. Love it, but the front end sits way to high compared to the rear. So I adjusted the torsion bars to lower it, looked 100% better, so I took it to an alignment shop to get it aligned. I go in and pick the vehicle up and the front is back at stock height...
