Starts fine...then dies right away.

well after directly at the throttle body and playing around with stuff for 30minutes with a friend of mine who is a mechanic....we noticed the hose that connects to what I think is the IAC was disconnected. It appeared in place till I looked at it from the side and noticed it wasnt all the way in. wow. how neither of this noticed this I have no idea. thanks for all the help and ideas. Since we were at it I did the throttle cable mod too.

btw. thought i would add that for whatever reason, after tightening up the throttle cable (still has a little play, it isnt holding open the TB or anything), before we connected the hose, it did run slightly longer before it died off.
 






I know im resurecting this thread from the dead but...

My Explorer did this to me a few weeks ago, and I didn't even open the hood. To fix it...all I did was rev it....turned it off for a few minutes...and tried it again and it started.

It might have to do with the fuel injectors. (IMHO)
