Where are all the Virginia Explorers??

Doubt I'm still a member but I can tell you that they are a great bunch. They have a meeting/event about every month and are on private land. Most people have full-sized rigs but I had a blast with my stock Zuk. Miss those guys.

bad clunk in drivetrain, checked all obvious causes.....help

Personally I'd just go for the SAS. You have the rear locker for the OBX, air down as far as you need to and just be smart. (ideally you aren't going along) Good luck.

bad clunk in drivetrain, checked all obvious causes.....help

What type of acceleration? Normal, or to to floor? Do you have a 2WD option, if not and you don't want to do the brown wire mod, just take off the front d-shaft and see if the problem continues. I stripped the splines out of my front d-shaft twice and never realized it. Is it just one...

Where are all the Virginia Explorers??

Not to mention an Explorer is kinda big for some of the trails around here unless you want to leave a trail of body parts to make sure you can make it back. Don't get me know I loved my X, but the amount of money to make it a great wheeler was too much for me, plus I was always nervous to...

    How many miles?

'97 XLT Tranny went at 180k on the ODO, estimated 200k with the adjustment for tire size. Ran 33s with stock 3.73s since 96k. Ran Amsoil with a K&N oil filter for most of the miles.

Where are all the Virginia Explorers??

For what it's worth This weekend the CV4WA is having a benefit ride for someone. Prices are cheap... Really cheap. If you can afford the gas to come out there you can afford to ride. I KNOW it's under $20/vehicle. I'm leaving Richmond Friday night and camping 'til Sunday. I won't be...

Where are all the Virginia Explorers??

Feb 9 2008 - CV4WA Our normal club meeting is Saturday the 9th, I'm sure there will be some wheeling, it's not an event and if nothing else, I'll be there and can walk you through the trails. There is a cost for wheeling there I'd have to check what it is. You can take a stock vehicle (my Zuk...

Where are all the Virginia Explorers??

Well the zuk is currently naked, but axles are purchased and I think I've decided on the motor. Need to make sure the motor/tranny will fit and decide on suspension and cage options. If nothing else I should be able to throw on a SPOA kit on my black Zuk and get by with that if need be. It's...

Where are all the Virginia Explorers??

Let's set a date. Hopefully the Zuk'll be ready by spring. Do you know what the terrain is like at Uwharrie? I plan to run the Uwharrie Zuk event in October, but wouldn't turn down a weekend to run that in Spring. Memorial Day weekend might be a busy but fun weekend plus give an extra day...

Ok, I forgot about that trip. That's the one I took the X on instead of the Zuk. I guess I didn't realize where it was.... I'm was just a follower back then... That and I don't have pictures of it, so I tend to forget... BTW - We missed you and Stacey at the event in August. I think there...

Where are all the Virginia Explorers??

Crabtree falls is another spot that a stocker can make it through and has camping. Depending on your level and your buddies level I would suggest going with someone with some experience. Tons of great people, well known trails for all abilities, people to help if you get stuck or break down...

I took 130+ photos but have not uploaded them yet. Ran out of film (SD memory) and couldn't find my spare. We also have some video but I have no idea of when I'll get to that.

Where are all the Virginia Explorers??

How 'bout Saturday? Lunch at 1:00. wheel'n all day get as muddy as you like. Did you guys hear that Crozet is trying to become members only. You'd pay $100/year and then $25/day or $40/wknd. There are some benefits to it however. I wouldn't consider it unless you NEED hard-core rocks.
