I bought mine for $1200, the rag joints were gone, and there was no filter in the air cleaner box, the driver seat is rusted in the upright position, it has a couple dents, a bad radius arm bushing, and a bad t case motor. I got ripped off, but I love my Explorer, it has character.

my driver side radius arm bushings are bad, not terrible, but it clunks, and my tire rubs at half lock in reverse, but that's partly because of the bent bumper, anywho, I think I've decided, after much useage of the search function, and a talk with the local mechanic, to go the route of cutting...

I've run some of the funner trails in northern California on 31s in my old fullsize Cherokee, I don't see why an Explorer on 33s or 35s couldn't take on any trail up here, it's just a matter of how much sheetmetal you're willing to see bashed into nothingness.
