    Another satisfied Hurst shifter customer

A couple of questions: In the 1-3-5 position, the knob appears to be very close to the dash; any problem with knuckle-banging on quick shifts? Part number? All in all, very nice, and nicely done.

    darn door locks

Pull the door trim panel and vapor liner, and inspect all of the linkage rods to and from the door latch. Make sure that all are properly attached and not binding on anything. Lube all pivots points and the latch. If this fails to correct the problem, get a new latch. Don't forget new clips for...

    A/C blower fan intermittent

    AutoZone, $12.95. Works like a charm. :D

    A/C blower fan intermittent

Thanks, Tom. I just did that this morning at work and it seems to be working. Time will tell, I guess.

    A/C blower fan intermittent

I posted this once before and got no replies, so here goes again. My blower fan seems to only work when it feels like it. When it is working, it works at all speeds. Usually, at first start-up of the day, it will work fine. If I re-start after a short stop, it won't come on. It will then...

What did Seafoam do to my idling?

Every 5-8 seconds? Could be the AC cycling. Have you checked for trouble codes?

    Yet another blower fan question

    Hello...anyone home?

    Yet another blower fan question

    Heater/AC fan. Sorry.

    Yet another blower fan question

I've read a couple of recent threads on blower fan problems, but mine is a little different. It works fine on all speeds, when it works. The problem is that while doing errand hopping, on restart, the fan won't come on. If it sits for a while, no problem; but a quick stop and restart, no fan...

    Idle woes kicking my butt

Voltage regulator for the 75 amp alternator is $20 at Autozone. While you're at it, pull the alternator and have them test it; it's free! :D

    Trouble codes- 94 Sport

Here is the sequence of codes during koeo: 111 111 111 157 172 157 172 157 172 Just cleaned the MAF/reset PCM today and the K&N is drying as we speak. Pulled the PCV and it was clean and rattled freely, but will replace anyway. Plugs are relatively fresh,(well, the memory of replacing...

    update on my AC collapse

I went thru this last year. Started with a chattering noise, progressed to a grinding noise, then the clutch bearings failed and fun ensued. Cost me just under $600 all inclusive. Oh, and then the idler failed. And then the tensioner failed. I'm getting pretty good at changing belts!

    Idle woes kicking my butt

One thing that comes immediately to mind is replacing the voltage regulator. This may or may not correct the idle surge, but the alternator thing is a definite maybe. Burning smell= Not good. Are you using the stock 75 amp alternator or a high output?

    Trouble codes- 94 Sport

Mr Shorty, Thanks for the reply. To be more specific, during the course of a 1 hr 20 min 75-80 mph drive, the CE light came on 3 times. The KOEO test was performed immediately on arrival and showed 3 sets of the same 2 codes. Did not run KOER. The Ex has been running a little rough for the past...

    Trouble codes- 94 Sport

My check engine light came on several times today, so I ran a code scan and came up with codes 157 and 172. As I read the code guide, code 157 deals with the MAF sensor input voltage, and code 172 is Heated Exhaust Gas Oxygen sensor detects lean burn, bank 1. OK, so that tells me what? Are...

    What's it worth?

Isn't it funny how you have to point out damage to some folks, and then when you are done with the repair, they can spot a dust nib in the paint from 30 yards?

    What's it worth?

MONMIX, my thoughts exactly. Having been in the collision repair business for 15 years, and being able to see imperfections most people could never hope to notice, this does grind on me a bit. But if the settlement/buyback is reasonable, I think I will be able to live with it. AspenX, sorry to...

    Stock rims, bigger tires...

I have 31's on my 94 Sport, on 15x8 rock crawlers. They do rub a little. On a stock width wheel, they would be squeezed a little tighter, giving you more height and a little more chance of rubbing. They sure do look good, though! Acceleration does suffer.

    What's it worth?

My 94 Sport was recently totalled by a hail storm (Hey JTX, did you get it too?). All it needs is a windshield to continue as a daily driver, it just has that special "textured" finish now. Anyway, the insurance company considers it a total, so I am trying to get a feel for the value before I...

    Small lift- 94 Sport

Makahveli, I am running 31's and trying to get a little lift to clear (rubbing the tupperware flare extensions). I am going to use 1 1/2" lift springs in the front and I'm looking for a way to level it out. The old leaf springs are pretty "saggy". Thank you for your reply.

    Small lift- 94 Sport

OK, since no one would answer my question on previous post, are 4dr leaf spring a direct replacement for the springs on my 94 Sport? There is a difference between the 2, ie: 3 leaves(Sport) vs 4(4dr). 16-20 year-olds need not reply!

    Shackles vs new leaf springs

I may be wrong, but I seem to recall that the Sport has a 3-leaf pack and the 4door has a 4-leaf? Just wondering if the 4door's are a direct swap?
  23. I

    Shackles vs new leaf springs

Will the same trick work on a 94 Sport (4dr springs in place of 2dr)?

    94 Explorer with 10.5 inch's of lift!

Joey, Very nice job! What part of NM are you in; I would like to see it in person! Are those stock front coils you took out? I need to replace mine.

Caster angle ??, any techs out there?
