So last Tuesday, I broke down and bought what I thought was going to be a donor for making Wendy, my 98 XLT, a 4x4. That pretty much ended when the owner gave me a clear Texas title for this X, with no history of accidents on it. I've decided to rebuild this 99 XLT that came with one door and the hatch, affectionately named 'Partless'. Let the fun begin.
What Partless is:
1999 Ford Explorer XLT
4.0L SOHC V6- Blown head gasket, awaiting rebuild
5R55E Automatic Control Trac 4 Wheel Drive
3.55 Open
High End XLT
What Partless is missing:
Rims and Tires
Fenders (left and right)
Grille
Metal part under Grille
Headlights and Corners (left and right)
Hood
Bumpers (front and rear)
Left Taillight
Overhead console
Cruise control buttons
Center console lid
What Partless will get:
SOHC mild performance rebuild
5R55E shift kit
Limited Dark Graphite Grey Interior
3.55LS or 3.73LS
Accusump Pre-oiler
2003 Sport Rear Glass
Drilled and Slotted Rotors
Custom Exhaust (will sound like stock or quieter! Wendy is loud enough)
Navigation System (maybe the ones from the Expeditions)
As Partless sits now:
One door in place, two more to go in the back of Wendy.
