a/c does not work

Hi, I have a 2002 Ford Explorer. When I turn on the air it blows fine but the air doesn't get cold. It's like just the fan is on. Hoping a simple fix, I'm pregnant and need my air haha.

There are several threads describing a loss of heat or a/c when the engine is under load. The problem 99% of the time is a loss of vacuum during acceleration that the vacuum reservoir cannot maintain (its sole purpose) vacuum and the air doors close temporarily with no vacuum to keep'em open...

I own a 1996 Ford Explorer and I love it. it is the big V-8 and it runs great, easy to work on and never lets me down (280,000 miles!) but yesterday the A/c just stopped working....I don't mean it stopped cooling, it stopped functioning altogether. no fan, nothing...the heater doesn't even work...
