What do you mean timed ? Change timings? Not possible. No distributor - no chances to change timings.
However timings can be changed slightly with performance chip.

I think he means seconds from 0-60.

You're probably in the low-mid 8's.

I agree with Alec... Driving mine once I just decided to time it in my head (1 Mississippi, 2 Mississippi...) and got 9 seconds. 8-8.5 sounds right.

thats mighty quick for an ohv v6, must be a very well built engine. I have not had any experience with the OHV v6, but the SOHC seems pretty nice... you'd beat me in a race... by a couple car lenghts there heh

just wondering....what do you think the 0-60 is for the SOHC? its acceleration has definately gotten worse since i put on 32s:rolleyes:

I run a consistant 8 second 0-60 in my SOHC :D

I was digging around in my old back issues of Car and Driver and found a road test stats in the back of one of them where they tested a 95 4x4 4 door Limited and they managed to get a 10.4 second 0-60.

Now my 95 2wd XLT 4 door (bone stock OHV with 130,000 miles on the clock) would waltz to 60 in about 10 seconds flat, and now after I put an electric radiator fan on it, it's dipping into the high 8's, low 9's.

Are the first gens a lot lighter than the 2nd? I was thinking more like high 9s --> 10 for an auto stocker. The SOHC Sports run low to mid 8s (stock auto). Actually C&D ran 7.9 in a SOHC '97 Sport.

Maybe I was a bit optimistic. I do know mine was running high 7s with intake, exhaust, and chip.

A Sport is a little lighter yet also...I think only by about 300 lbs but that's still significant.

Gearing and tire size will also affect 0-60 time.
