What is new in the performance parts world for the 4.0 SOHC motor?

heh, nothing. EE still hasnt come out with their supercharger for the SOHC, like they claimed they would at the end of the summer, but i think that was the only thing to anticipate any time soon.

why didn't ford ever make a DOHC V-6 for the explorer?
that would kick ass (an efficient and very powerful DOHC V-6)

dunno. not cost effecient? too much power? i wish they would have had something with some more ooomph. i have the SOHC which is a lot better than the OHV, but its still under powered for the truck, i think.

I've talked to a EE tech last week and he told me before next summer they'll have the supercharger, headers, MAS, TB for the SOHC. The supercharger should come out in next 3 months. For now if u want a MAS u can try vanirtech, kinda expensive but i've heard good things about em.

you have sport correct tbomb, see my thing is that the 4 door SOHC is faster then the 4 door V8. so since the 4d is like o-60 in 8.2, the sport's in the high 7 second range like 7.8 or 7.9. but, to me, i thinks that is pretty da** fast.

there is a guy with a blower on a SOHC just check out the rangerforum and he is in there he did it him self and he has a complete 30 page instuction setup to do it your self like he did.

tarheel085, yeah, i have the sport. i have no idea what my truck is supossed to run in 0-60 or the 1/4, but the truck just feels under powered, even with the KKM and Superchip. maybe its just me, but i think these trucks should have something more from the factory. i used to have a 91 sport OHV, and it was ridiculously underpowered.

blk mk8, i saw someone else post a thread about that guy. supossedly its a lot of custom work. i would love to get a supercharger for my truck, but i dont wanna do all that custom work, and i know the EE one (whenever it comes out) is gonna be a crazy ripoff; not to mention, im still just a poor college student until may

well he did it all him self and had a complete list of parts and instructions on how to do it i am pretty shure you could do it for under a grand.
