i have an 01 explorer sport2 dr and it has this weird vibration sound somewhere under the dash on the drivers side almost down by the pedals only at low rpms... its so annoying but it disappears after i hit the gas a little bit anything below 2500rpm it makes it .

anyone have any ideas?

- Thanks Alex

i have same problem...

I think mine is a wheel bearing...because it gets louder/faster with speed

nut I also have a clunking from stop/start. look at your body mounts. mine directly under drivers floor has disintergrated

Check your driveshafts...they will clunk when they are ungreased and thats when you feel a sudden bump when the trans shifts....

Vibration in the steering wheel is usually paired with a problem at the wheel either its unaligned or the tie rod ends are starting to become loose.

Some people say that the trans could be shuttering but I dont know much abou t that try searching around

the transmission section in the forum has a lot of usefull info

Yeah everyhing seems to be alright mechanical wise its just like a vibration when I slightly hit the gas and if I hit it a little hard it won't make it but the noise is definately right near the gad pedal and its so annoying , doesn't seem to be like a steering or and clunk or vibe outside the cabin though.

Like its sounds like a mix of a humming and vibration sound mixed under the dash around the pedals or up in there
