01 ranger body lift

hello all.im thinking about doing a body lift for my truck. its a 01 4x4 ext cab. im looking to do it cheap. cheaper than the three inch kits i've seen. i really only want to do a 2 inch. my question is if i do a "homemade" lift of 2 inches do i need to add a stearing colum extension??? also what other modifications may i have to do? any help would be great!!

performance accesories is the main and pretty much the only place for body lifts for a reason they are pro and now what they are doing.....i wouldnt recommend making your own body lift as if you dont get it just right on all the mounts then your body lines wont line up and you also run in to the problem of making your own bumber brackets and possible your own gap gaurds if that bothers you.... i think it is worth the money and all you are doing is looking to be able to get the clearance for just a lil bit bigger tire....well i have seen 33's with just a three inch lift so never know either way i would just hit up ebay and pick up one from per acc... would eb alot simpler
