20" kaizer wheels
yokohama ultra low profiles
8" drop

its actually a chevy drop kit customized for my car - I got the drop 1 week after my car came out in 2000 and it cost me close to $2000. By using the ultra low profiles and the 20's I managed todrop another inch or so.

Just for the record - my overall wheel diameter is actual 1.4" smaller than stock - and also I explaqined EVEARYTHING was custom - I even had to cut my wheel well's - p.s. I measured my drop by measuring from gound up to right under my door and also did the same on a stock 2001- my back is dropped 8" and front is dropped 5.8"

Definitely doesn't look like a 8" drop in the back to me.

I wonder what "chevy kit" it was.

that is a really nice looking truck

That is clean! I'm interested to know how he adapted a Chevy drop kit on this thing. Seems to me that the suspension is not even close to being the same.

IMO, when going that low, I would want adjustable suspension. I bet that thing does not ride very well.

That's what I was thinking. I'm sure new brackets had to be fabbed, etc, etc. I'd rather go with a Mustang II setup, preferrably bagged, going to that much trouble to drop it might as well go with bags too :D

I know Air Ride went with a Mustang II setup on their Sport Trac.

Those wheels and tires look like ****! WAY too much room left in the wheel wells.

Hey Yob, since your the group purchase moderator I was wondering if you could check out the Lo-Tek Full Pillar Replacement Gauge Pods I posted over on this post:

I wanted to make sure you guys didn't have any problems with adding it to the group purchases.....

I agree about the wheel gap. Just not enough drop for the amount of work that went into it. He definitely had to of been one of the first though with a dropped '01 Sport, too bad he didn't make it to SEMA or any magazine for his efforts though ;)

the rims are alittle yucky and the fact that he still has his roof rack on confuses me.... it would look soo much better with it off. Its a pretty nice ride though.

Nice and clean but those wheels looks wrong. If the wheel size is actually smaller than stock why did he have to cut the wheel wells? I don't like how they flare open at the bottom.

Hey dropped02explorer are those replacement pillar's for real would they fit my 2001 Sport and where did you find those at i want to get me one. thanks any help would be great.

I think its all fake and he used photoshop

J/K, i dont know if I like wheels and the low profile tires on it. But its his truck and if he likes it.....thats all that matters.

The ones I posted a pic of are on a Lightning (Expedition/F-150) from the GaugePods website, they don't make any for the Explorer yet, but they say if they have a minimum order of at least 20 they'll make them for anything. They're complete pillar replacements and they even make passenger side pillar pods.

I sent Rick a PM but haven't heard back, not sure if someone wants to post on the Group Purchase board.....

holy crap.....get a price and if they are around 50 bucks count me in!!!!

I'm the newbie around here so I'm trying to pass the ball ;) Never got a reply back from Rick and since I won't be adding any gauges for a while I won't be needing one yet. Anyone else want to try and get the GP started?
