01 Sport Trac Anti theft issue

Hey guys need some advice, I have 2 trucks one is fully functional except for the anti theft system. The other runs but needs a bunch of parts to ride on road. So I’ve been trying to get mine to run so I bought a new code reader (black box under key tumblr) didn’t help changed the whole steering column out of other truck and computer swapped and nothing worked, so I swapped computers back out and key tumblr back to mine and it does the same it will crank every few days and run for a few mins then throw theft light and cut off fuel pump I’ve been told to have it flashed and reprogram but I’ve been reading where a lot of people say that most of the time doesn’t help, not being made of money wanted to see if anyone could help me think of any ideas or reassure me on the flashing and reprogramming ordeal.

NOTE: I can take computer, key tumblr, and steering column and still crank parts truck just mine throws theft light. PLEASE HELP

i don't know the answer but I went through something similar on a volvo and if you haven't already done so , label everything that comes from the same vehicle , you don't want to mix the keys up or you will lose your mind . I suggest permanent marker or scratching x's on all the parts from one truck

when I did my 5.0 swap i had the same issue. I used the 5.0 ecu and swapped the GEM unit because I also added the digital hvac. The pats wasn't happy with ecu. and I didn't want to swap all the key cylinders. I went on ebay bought one of those china programmers. Popped it on my obdii port and I had to wait like 45 minutes every step, but I deleteed all the keys from the pats unit, and added my sport trac keys to the 01 explorer pats. Been driving my truck for a year now with no issues.

this is the exact one that I use. I have used this to put a junk yard pats in my buddys explorer, we had no know keys. so this programmer works with no working keys. pretty neat just takes a long time. you get a timer for like 45 minutes every step. 45 minutes to read, 45 minutes to delete, 45 minutes to program. lol I guess thats the anti car thief thing.
