02 Drivers side window

Hey guys need some trouble shooting help. My drivers side window will go down but not up. If I hit the switch just right sometimes it will come back up. Last time it happened I had to remove the door panel and power up the motor. All other widow switches work fine.

Any ideas?

The master switch could be bad. I had a similar problem. Changed my switch. Fixed it. Local auto parts store had it in stock.

Drivers window switch is a good call but don't overlook broken door hinge wiring.
Windows, locks, and interior lighting can all affected by this very common issue.

Everything else works fine. It is only the drivers side front window that is intermittent.

You know your motor is fine because it works in one direction. The only difference between up and down is reversing the power and ground going to the window motor. IMO the driver's window is the one that would be least effected by a broken wire. I had all kinds of crazy window problems when I first bought my '01 ST. The only window that went up and down properly was my driver's window. With much diagnostic work I figured out it was the master window switch. Bought a new one on eBay for about $26. All my issues were solved.
