02 explorer....21 ft boat

i have a 02 explorer xls v6 and i was just wondering if i can pull a 21 ft boat that ways 3500 lbs in and out of the water without hurting my car. the towing capacity is 5k for a 02 explorer and on a v8 its 7k so i was thinking i should be fine with my v6 to hull the boat. any suggestions?

Yea you can.. Or at least im 85% sure you can.. My 91X pulls a 20ft boat and its a v6 so I am pretty sure yours can.

If it's under the towing capacity go for it. Put it in 4 Low when towing up out of ramps and what not. Don't use over drive when towing. Keep good tranny fluid in your tranny. Not sure if the auto's can use a after market cooler or not?
