02 Explorer Airbag Code 34

what gives? I cant find a clear answer, i found some info on the mustang site veryuseful.com about drive side airbag low resistance or shorted, but also searched and read about a seat belt pre-tensioner error...anyone else had a code 34 and how did you fix it? taking to dealer is out of the question..

I too have the code 34, and have had it for a year now. Just haven't carried it in (or bought the kit) to fix it.
I forget now whether it is drivers or passenger side (I think it's drivers) but it is the pre tensioner wiring harness that is bad. There is TSB out on it. It's somewhere on this forum, just don't know where right now. EDIT: Try this Dead Link Removed
I haven't worried about it, but I very seldom have passengers that may need the pretension if the airbag comes out.
