Hey All!
First off, my trusty 02 explorer almost has 200K on it!
My key stuck in the ignition switch and could not get it out, neither could a lock smith. Drilled out the tumbler teeth enough to extract the key, then drilled out the release pin and that didn't work.
I attempted to carefully drill out the lock tumbler with progressive bit sizes and the last one caught and ripped the tumbler out of the housing.
I need to replace "the part" what links the lock tumbler to the ignition switch.
Does anyone know that "This Part" is called? and if so if I can buy one anywhere?
I thought I'd give you all a shout to see if I can buy this "part" or If I have to buy a whole new column at a salvage yard just to extract this "part".
