My left hand turn signal blinks rapidly but my right hand blinks more slowly and steady. The left used to blink in this manner as well. Is this an indication that the switch is on the way out? If so, can I replace it or is this something better left to my mechanic? If I can do it myself, can someone provide the "how to"?

Thanks

Thanks for the responses. I guess I should have mentioned that was the first thing I thought of and did, replace the light bulb. But when I was out, someone told me that the drivers side brake light was out. I replaced that yesterday but after reading these responses, I got to thinking and just went out and checked the turn signal and it works just fine.

You think they would mention in the owners manual that it is a closed loop system and if one light is out, that is how you know, by the rapid blinking.

Problem solved.

I had that problem too, I could not figure out why the turn signal was just so insanely fast. Turned out it was my back turn bulb that was out.
