Hello everyone I am hoping you all might be able to help. My explorer is throwing both p0174 and p0136. I have been told both from info I find here and from Autozone, before I change my o2 sensor to check the rubber elbow. As per this thread http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=217062
There is a picture on that thread of where the rubber elbow is, but looking at my engine I can not find it. Here is a pic of my engine.

Is there something I need to remove to be able to see the rubber elbow? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Okay so I was able to remove the engine cover and came up with this-

I was still not able to find the rubber elbow, but I did find this near the alternator that I replaced a while ago.

Is this hose suppose to look like this or did I pinch it when I replaced the alternator? Is it possible this is the culprit?

Your linked thread for the failed PCV elbow pertains to the V8, not the V6 you have.

Ah, that would explain it. How would you go about it with a smoke machine?

So that pinched hose was one of my problems. I had a code 0136 and when I got my codes checked the other day the 0136 was cleared. I still have the 0174 code and am going to change the o2 sensor.

Now for my question. Is the bank 2 sensor 1 the precat on the passenger side? Also I am having a debate with my husband. He doesn't believe after an hour of driving the area around the o2 would be hot. I believe it does, I mean it is the exhaust system correct? My question would be after an hour of driving, would an hour of sitting be enough for it to cool off enough I won't burn myself? (The only place to put it on a lift is an hour away)
