1) Windup whining sound from the front end. The drive shaft has a lot of grimy buildup but it doesn't leak bad enough to drip onto the ground. Changed the front diff fluid a while back, it was black and sludgy and maybe 1qt of fluid came out. Is this a bad pinion seal on the front diff?

2) A pop or twang type of noise from the driver's side while backing up with the wheel cranked full left. Ball joints seem ok, driver's side wheel bearing replaced about 5k miles ago with a Motorcraft hub. I'm thinking it's the driver's side CV axle? Maybe I hurt it somehow when replacing that bearing and it's just now starting to act up.

3) Also have a clunk when releasing the throttle under acceleration or at high speed. Is this diff related? The rear diff fluid was replaced at about the same time as the front and it doesn't have the roar like most people complain (3.73 LS).

My transfer case is on its way out, but these issues don't seem related to that. Or maybe they are, I don't know.
