02 front wiper issue

Hello,
I am having an issue with my front wipers. When I turn them on I can hear the motor start up, but no movement. However if you move the wiper blade about a quarter inch the motor takes over and completes the full back and forth motion. I tried searching the issue here but I can't seem to find the same problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated .

Haven't taken a motor apart, but it probably has an internal gear that's broken a tooth. When you manually move it, it's able to catch the next good tooth on the wheel.
