I've down to the screw that is holding the PATS module to the column. It's not a straight shot - blocked by the black plastic wire chase that runs under the steering column.
It looks to me that I need to unplug two connectors - one at "6 o'clock" under the steering wheel and another at "9 'oclock". I'm figuring one of them is the ignition switch connection - not sure about the other. This would allow me to push the wire chase to one side to access the screw holding the PATS.
I'm doing this because I'm led to believe the cylinder release is blocked by the PATS module (ie. it's a the bottom of the cylinder sleeve, where the PATS is mounted).
Before I do something stupid, am I missing something?
Thanks.
Chris
BTW - I did see two TSBs on this issue. I'm assuming that all Ford does is replace the cylinder, which is what I'm attempting to do.
