While on vacation, towing our pop-up, we experienced a grinding noise.
Specs:
02 Limited
4.6L
Tow package
New front lower ball joints before the trip
Symptoms:
After extended highway driving and after coming to a stop at the end of a ramp, the front end (sound like right side) would grind and stutter while turning. It felt like something was bound up or stuck.
It would do this almost everytime, even after a short stop for gas and snacks.
It does not seem to do this when we are not towing.
Possibilites:
Front right bearing?
Brake caliper sticking?
Hitch ball and trailer tongue binding?
The temps were in the high 80's to mid 90's while we were driving.
Any thoughts?
