02 Mountaineer AWD transfer case options

I have an 02 Mountaineer and I am pretty sure that the transfer case it on it's way out. I was wondering if there were any other years transfer cases that would work? I believe that they switched from the BW4410 in 05, so I was wondering if I could use a unit from that year or am I stuck searching for an 02 model year?

You can use an 02-04 Mountaineer 05 was a change year some still had the 4410 some did not, 02-05 Explorer (AWD) will work and Lincoln Aviator 03 will work.

There is a write up somewhere on here that shows how to change the viscous clutch without having to remove the transfer case. You just have to drop the rear drive shaft and pull the rear cover and I believe it's right there. Do a search, I seen this a few weeks ago on here.
