Hey guys, couple quick questions I couldn't figure out while searching.

My 02 Sport has about an 1.5" difference between the tire-body gap from the back to the front. The front sits about and inch and a half higher than the back. This bothers me, so I plan to lower the front an inch and a half by the torsion bars.

Is this really just as simple as measuring and adjusting the bolts until I get the height I want? Will I need an alignment or anything else afterwards?

Also, anyone know how many turns it might take to achieve about and inch and a half? I screw them OUT to go lower, correct?

Thanks guys.

yes you lust take a 13mm socket and a ratchet, and loosen(take out the bolts until it sits level or where you want it, alignmen is reccomended but not required

If you end up dropping the front 1.5", an allignment will be required unless you enjoy buying tires every year.

After the alignment I wont have any more tire wear than normal right? IE, dropping the front isnt going to keep wearing my tires more?

They will wear normally. You will need camber adjusters though.

I don't know what it is with newer Sports, but it seems like every damn one of them has pretty severe sagging issues.

It confuses me to know you researched this and still had these questions...

Maybe you can search to make sure that he searched for his search :D

Well I did. I spent about 20 minutes searching and didn't find the direct answers I needed. Why would I lie about something like that? Last time I checked, this was a forum. A forum built for asking/answering questions about Explorers, which is exactly what I did. Thanks for your concern though.

Thanks for giving me the definition of a forum...

And I'm not concerned, infact I could give a dam, but it's amazing this stuff pops up almost twice a week, and people still claim questions haven't been answered.

BeaJ - With the info in this forum already, someone could write a 300pg novel documenting what torsion bars and how to lower/lift them :p

You give a damn enough to keep posting here.... Thanks for the info.

Check and Mate! :p

An alignment is an absolute must after any front height change. The camber adjusters will be needed beyond some point. A one inch change may not need the camber plates, but somewhere along the 1-2" point they will. Good luck,
