Has anybody seen anything like this? I have had my 02 xlt in now for the 5th time to the local ford dealer for a AT trans. slipping problem. ( I bought the car 11/03 with 43K miles). 1st time they changed the fluid and conditioner. 2nd time reprogrammed the PCM 3rd time the did "K0ER" test?? which failed, so they added more fluid. Please note that I have NEVER seen a leak on the garage floor. 4th time they upgraded the PCM. this time they have had it for 16 days and ripped it down twice, changed solenoid, cleaned it up, blah, blah, blah. They pulled it down last night off the lift, heard a humm in the read and found the diff bearing is shot. They changed them this AM. Pulled it off the lift, heard another noise in the rear and found that the rear wheel bearings are full of rust and shot to pieces. Thank god for extended warranties!

So, has anybody else experienced these?? Any ideas on what the real problem here is? anybody wanna buy a used car?

im not sure on the lemon laws here in ct, but i would seriously look into it. how many miles are on it?

The KOER test is "Key On , Engine Running" and let's them read the codes in morse-code style (outputting a string of numbers, which they then look up and tell you that is has "failed"). Slipping will always register as a trouble code as it is very bad - there is an imput sensor and an output sensor, and between these two the computer can tell if slipping is occuring. How much are you asking for it?

i say try another dealer just to make sure everything goes smooth. I wouldn't let it get to you too much as you are gettign your money out of the extended warrenty
