I found a lower mile 03’ 4.0 and was told the 4.0 are all basically the same. Now basically I’ll buy but I’ve come into some things that are different. I think I can sort it out but I’d love some insight from those who know these rigs.
I plan to use my original 04’ wiring harness. Are there any sensors I’ll have to swap over to work with the 03’ engine?
I noticed the EGR setup is different so I’m going to have to swap that, hopefully they’ll come out of the damn manifolds ok(have a torch).
The engine going in has an oil cooler above the filter I’ll need to delete. Any gaskets I’ll need to accomplish that?
Last but not least, the fuel rail quick connectors are different. Can I swap the feeder line(the one that the QD connects to and to each banks fuel rail? I’d hate to pull injectors(I’d have to get new O-rings I’d imagine).
Hopefully that’ll be my big questions lol.
