This is my first post here and I have a problem w/ my ex. when driving about 45 mph and above seems like it engages on and off all tires and when i press the 4x4 HI button it seems to go away (grinding feeling on and off) more on the front area. Does anyone axperience this kind of problem? Dont know what to do for now. Thanks for keeping up a great site!!

lets start simple and ask when was the last time you got your tires aligned and ballenced? id start there to see if things get any better... i dont think i can think of a reason why your truck popping into 4x4 would make the truck rattle like that...unless somthing is SERIOUSLY fragged.

I just had my tires rotate and balanced. if it is a wheel bearing, how do you know if it is the front or the rear? thanks

jack up the vehicle and put it on stands so all 4 tires are off the ground (or alternate front and rear) and try and MOVE the tire, it should move in 2 dimensions front - back and top - bottom. and even diagonaly. there will be considerable movement, try to move all 4 tires. if it moves, its likely the bearing is bad.

Thanks for the quick response. I will try it tonight when I get home. (Very anxious to get home)

best if u get all 4 up because all u need to do is put Drive @ 4x4 and see wich wheel is not rotating..signal of sstress comming more cummonly from the ball bearing...
