Hey everybody. While running wires for my backup camera today I came across a button on the back of the liftgate (on the outside of the truck), a few inches under the handle that opens the gate. When pressed it sounds like it's unlocking something, but I'm not sure. Sorry if this is a dumb question, but does anyone know what the button does?

Opens the glass.

Thank you. Since anybody can just press the button, is there a way to disable the open glass button, besides simply locking the doors (I assume?)

The button is disabled when you lock the doors.

@b86 you crack me up. Welcome to the forum.

Side note, If you have the 4 button remote be careful about dropping it in a pocket full of stuff after you leave your truck.
I've come back a couple of times and found that I popped the window open without realizing it.

Had the same fob issue several times finding my doors unlocked. These rubber covers are just thick enough to prevent buttons being pushed accidentally, but you still have to intentionally press individual buttons to work. Hasn't happened since.

b86, sorry for the threadjack. After you read the link below, you'll get the picture. I'm done here.

Thank you, and I get the point, but I just find it funny that I made a few threads with more "technical" questions and can barely get a reply, but I make a thread asking what a button does and how to disable it(never even owning an SUV before) and people come out of nowhere with smart remarks. I really appreciate the help, though.
