I need help to replace the middle row seat (middle seat) lever in my 2003 Ford Explorer XLT. Over time, the lift up lever has become broken and won't stay in place in the square slot it was built in. It rattles when the truck is in motion and it's irritating to hear. How much does this part cost and is it something I can replace myself? Thanks! :D

This may just be a Hot-Wheels car or some other junk preventing the spring in the latch from pulling the cable tight.

Pull the seat out (remove driver side seat first) then the middle seat and have a look.

Pretty common... candy, sticky soda accident, you get the idea.

In my truck, you have the front seats (driver and passenger). The next row of seats, the middle seats, consist of a left and right seat and a middle seat. The left and right seats fold forward by depressing a lever on the side of each seat near the doors. The middle seat folds down by lifting up on a lever that folds the seat down flat (forward). That lever when lifted, has come up out of the housing. I've tried to push it back in place several times but whatever was holding it in place has broken. It won't stay in place. When I pull up on the lever to fold the seat down, the lever housing pulls out of the slot. I would like to replace the lever housing so that when I pull up on the lever, the housing stays in place and the seat lays down flat (forward). Hope this helps in better understanding my problem. Thanks again for your help.
