I have a 2003 Sport V6. It will just shut off while driving a long distance ex. 30-40 miles. I can wait a few minutes and it will crank back up. Then, it will only go about 5-6 miles. The radio and air cond will still work. It's just the motor cutting off. I have replaced the fuel pump & filter. That did not fix it so we replaced a relay, and it cut off again after going about 40 miles. Have already paid a lot of $$

This is not a trac

when it dies, do you have spark??

Does it immediately start back up? Or is this something which takes a little while before restart? I could be a multitude of things, first is anything else acting up or strange? As asked earlier does the vehicle have spark & fuel pressure? If you don't have spark or fuel pressure then you could have a bad fuel pump relay (you stated you replaced the relay but which one) or the ECM relay. If those check out good then maybe the ignition switch has an intermittancy which is on the verge of going bad. Have you added any accessories to the vehicle which require switched power? Sorry for all the questions but this will help me eliminate some areas for troubleshooting.-jh

my first guess would have been fuel filter, bad fuel pump relay, fuel pressure regulator:dunno: then go electrical, spark etc... As stated It could really be a bunch of things. without having some diagnostic it is impossible to tell what is going on there.
