 Luckily Explorer bumpers rest on the frame :)

My mom had stopped in a pefectly flat... decently striaght stretch of road with her blinker on to turn left. While my mom was waiting for oncoming traffic a 20's something girl smoking a cigarette and tuning her radio failed to realize the explorer was actually stopped infront of her and she got the worst of it..(ha ha)

Explorer Damage: Punctured, bent, scratched bumper.

Corsica Damage: Radiator-bumper-lights(all grenaded) , hood bent in 1/2, countless many other things which basically add up to it's front end being smashed in. ( I wasn't there when it happened and valiantly searched for it to no avail, so no picture)

Bodily Damage:

(explorer) Mom- No injuries, 8 year old brother - No injuries, 13 year old brother (w/brain tumor) - no damage.

(corsica) Dumb B-tch - Bruises on arm.

This happened about 3:30 p.m. (10-03-03) I'de post the pics but I know how it is to live on 56k...

You have some pretty bad luck eh? ;)

i am suprised.....our corissica held up wuite well. it had been hit on the back 1/4 panel by a dump truck the day after we dropped coliision coverage then got rearended by an f-250 at 30 mph "with a bee in the cab". we still drove it for like a year and a half after that, and it had like 160k to it!

maybe the ass of the corsica is stronger than the front :) ? She hit my moms explorer at somewhere between 30-40mph, she was speeding.

Actually my mom hasn't been in an accident of any sort for about 20 years... and I didn't have anything to do with this one :D. I rarely need/get to drive the 03 which sucks in itself.

I honoestly don't understand how the girl in the corsica didn't realize the explorer was waiting to turn and by where the skid marks start she didn't notice until the last second.

Just an update, the girl driving the corsica had no insurance (****ty Cop didn't even check on-scene) and theres now an APB out for her... trying to catch her while she's driving without insurance or some sort?

I don't understand why they can't just go over to her house with a warrant personally?

(EDIT: I know the pics don't work anymore, the guy I had hosting them for me deleted them after awhile)

I can host them if you want.

Thats the thing, I don't have them anymore. :(

Happened to me too. Here I was sitting at a red light and some guy reaching down for a cigarrette in a chevy truck pushes about a 92 olds cutlas under my bumper of my BRAND NEW (1991) explorer I had bought about a week before. I don't know how I didn't kill the guys driving the cutlas as my hitch and bumper was through their windshield. Anyways, nobody got hurt and I got a shiny new bumper out of the deal.
