03 ford explorer making a knocking noise

The right rear timing chain guide broke on my explorer and after replace it and the tensioner, I started it and heard a weird noise and it would die after about 5 sec. It sounds like hitting the block with a hammer. I'm thinking maybe the tensioner isn't holding enough tension. Please help

Maybe the cam is out of time and you have valve interference??

That's just a guess... Hopefully someone with knowledge of the SOHC timing chains will jump in here.
